Inadine 9.5cm x 9.5cm
What is it? Inadine Dressing consists of a low adherent knitted viscose fabric impregnated with a polyethylene glycol (PEG) base containing 10% Povidone Iodine; equivalent to 1.0% available iodine. How does it work? Inadine Dressing is designed to protect wounds even when they are infected, providing long-lasting antimicrobial effect against bacteria, myocobacteria, fungi, protozoa and viruses,1 including resistant species such as MRSA.2,3 Inadine Dressing minimises adherence to the wound bed, therefore reducing the risk of damage to the granulation tissue at dressing removal,4 and in clinical practice has been shown to reduce pain for patients.5,6 As PVP-I is depleted, the dressing will change colour from orange to white. This evolution in colour provides an indicator on how frequently dressings should be changed, avoiding unnecessary dressing changes when compared to other dressings.1 This could improve cost effectiveness in treatment.4 When do I use it? Inadine Dressing is indicated to manage ulcerative wounds and may also be used for the prevention of infection in: Minor burns/abrasions Traumatic skin loss
Inadine is a non adherent dressing impregnated with ointment containing 10% povidine iodine.
